The largest great ape center in the western United States could be located in Palm Springs if the Wildlife WayStation relocates here from Los Angeles.
The 160-acre nonprofit entity, home to rescued tigers, cougars, lions, monkeys and more, is looking to relocate because the county of Los Angeles wants to develop in its area.
"Dave Baron, an attorney representing Suzanne Somers and husband Alan Hamel's 500 acres of property in Snow Creek, at the corner of Interstate 10 and Highway 111, said he has been talking to the mayor for two to three months about developing the WayStation on a portion of his client's property."
